Amazon.com Product Description
Swimming is a terrific workout, but it offers one major drawback: you can't wear headphones underwater without sacrificing sound quality. Or at least that used to be the case before the debut of the Finis SwiMP3 v2 waterproof MP3 player. Unlike standard waterproof MP3 players--which transmit sound through the air or water and produce only a muffled noise when submerged--the SwiMP3 v2 relies on your bones to conduct the sound. This direct transfer of sound vibrations from the cheekbone to the inner ear produces exceptional sound clarity, so you can listen to all of your favorite tunes while working out or taking a leisurely swim. And you needn't worry about damaging your hearing, as bone conduction hearing is a safe, well-established hearing mechanism in humans. Rather, this is the first time an audio company has leveraged the technology to enhance the experience of swimmers, tri-athletes, surfers, synchronized swimmers, and anyone else involved in general water activities.

The SwiMP3 v2 attaches to your swim goggles or snorkeling mask.
The SwiMP3 v2 also shines from a music standpoint, with 256 MB of memory and support for both MP3 and WMA files. Listeners have a basic selection of controls, including volume, shuffle, and resume, with an MP3 control panel built into the side panel. And when you're ready to swim, the player attaches easily to your swim goggle or snorkeling mask. Other details include a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to 8 hours per charge, a built-in USB plug that inserts directly into your computer (no cable required), and a lightweight housing that weighs only 2 ounces. Designed to hold approximately 60 songs, the SwiMP3 v2 is compatible with Windows 98 SE, 2000, Me, and XP and Mac OS 9.x and 10.x.

1 out of 5 stars Product provider is NO GOOD!   September 6, 2010
Ketron (CARY, NC, US)
This product was advertised as "New" but when it arrived, the box had been opened, and we suspect it was not "New" but instead, "USED." We returned it to the provider a month ago, and have NOT received our refund! Oximeter, the produt provider and they are the worst! Amazon has been ineffective in getting my refund, and you can't contact them by phone, only by email, how bogus!

4 out of 5 stars Best Underwater MP3   July 20, 2010
Moscuba
I swim 5 days a week - I have been looking for a good underwater Mp3 player
Most I have tried are bulky and require ear phones

The Swimp3 works great - when your in the water
These were designed specifically to work underwater

Above water - it more like noise - the minute you get underwater it surround sound

Highly recommend

4 out of 5 stars Cuts the Boredom   June 24, 2010
John M. Glennie (Niagara Falls, ON CANADA)
I lane swim 4 or 5 days per week and love this little Swi-mp3 player to play my music while swimming. I've had mine for about a year and a half and I understand that they have more memory now, but mine is fine. When I get bored with the set I have on it, I simply click and drag different music files using it just like a USB key. One side seems to pick up a bit of a buzz after about half an hour, but isn't there all the time. Overall, I'm pleased with it.

1 out of 5 stars Battery won't hold a charge   June 23, 2010
Michael Kahn (San Jose, CA)
I charge the device and it plays fine if I swim right away. But if I charge it and try to swim the next day, it won't play due to not having a battery charge. I formulated the plan to charge the device before swimming and that works. But for the most part I don't remember to do that. It's just too inconvenient. So the product is useless to me.

5 out of 5 stars love them   June 22, 2010
dw (philadelphia)
This is my third attempt to hear music underwater--I started first with a big clunky belt that you put your ipod in then dialed it closed--it leaked. Tried a box with my nano--clunky and it too leaked. I just love the Finis. I plugged in into my mac and dragged and dropped music and off to the pool. I took other reviewers advice an took along the instructions. I strapped the Finis on my goggles and it worked like a dream--unlike other reviewers it isn't fussy where I put it--anywhere close to my ear an the music is crystal clear--I do wear earplugs so that may help with the sound--again its not 5 star sound but it is fine for me for doing laps--my next plan is to give it a try hooked up to my bike helmet. I am very happy with this product
